75 Years of India’s Independence

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – A Great Celebration of the Amritham of Independence!

Indians celebrated their first Independence Day on 15th August 1947, making this the 76th Independence Day celebration. So, various programs were organized, and the government named it ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav‘ to celebrate 75 years of India’s independence.

This year, the theme of the 76th Independence Day is ‘Nation First, Always First’. Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav encouraged people to hoist the Tiranga or the national flag in front of their homes.

Amrita Vidyalayam Mysuru celebrated the 76th Independence Day on 15th August 2022. Col. Vijayan and Principal Swamini Ateendriyamrita Prana were the Chief Guests of the day. The programme started with the lighting of the lamp seeking the blessings of Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi.

Col. Vijayan hoisted the tricolour, followed by the national anthem by staff and students. It was a proud moment for each one of us to be a part of this patriotic moment. A vibrant cultural programme was presented by the students with music and dance performances. The students actively participated in the celebration.

Every year, the school celebrates this day with great fervour and passion, remembering our great heroes who sacrificed their lives to help gain independence from British rule. The programme concluded with  Shanthi Mantra.
