As a part of Eco Club Activity, on November 2nd, 2019, students and teachers of Amrita Vidyalayam, Mysuru made paper bags from old newspapers and magazines. To create awareness among the public about using paper bags instead of single use plastic bags, our students went on a rally to nearby grocery, vegetable and fruit shops and distributed the paper bags. Students also explained the harmful effects of plastic and its impact on nature and food items. They insisted that the public as well as the shopkeepers should use paper, cloth or jute bags instead of plastic. Students received positive response from the public and the shopkeepers.
