Amrita Vidyalayam celebrated the 77th Independence Day of India with boundless enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on Tuesday, 15th August 2023. Our respected Principal Swamini Amma, Senior Academic Coordinator Ms. Latha M.S., and staff welcomed the Chief Guest Smt. Ramya K. Prasad, Associate Professor of Visual Media and Communications at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Mysore.
The event commenced with lighting of the lamp which evoked the spirit of oneness, serenity and enlightenment, amidst the chanting of shlokas by the Veda students. The Honourable Chief Guest unfurled the national flag, followed by national song and national anthem. A systematic march past was done by our students with high spirit and pride, signifying their perseverance and their love towards our nation. Smt. Prathibha addressed the gathering with the welcome note. Respected chief guest, Smt. Ramya K. Prasad addressed the gathering with her insightful, thought provoking and enlightening words.
This was followed by an extravagant cultural programme, with eye-catching, scintillating dances, patriotic songs, fancy dress, skit based on freedom fighters, and a yoga demonstration by all the students from Pre-KG to Class X filled with patriotic enthusiasm.
The programme culminated with vote of thanks by Smt. Poornima Bhat followed by Shanti mantra. The celebration was truly a memorable one creating an ambience of patriotism, unity, integrity, and harmony.
