Satguru Mata Amritanandamayi Devi’s Saptathi is a momentous occasion for all of us. As part of Amma’s 70th birthday celebrations, Sevana Varam, a week-long celebration of compassion and selfless service was conducted at all Amrita Vidyalayam schools. Staff and students of Amrita Vidyalayam Mysuru visited Ajithanele Orphanage in Bogadi, and distributed groceries, stationeries, and clothes to the children of the orphanage. Our senior teachers, Sri Manjunath and Smt. Jayamala shared the legacy of Amma’s service to the world with the children. Students and staff sung devotional bhajans followed by Amma’s Aarti, and expressed their gratitude to the caretakers for giving the opportunity to spend time with the children.
